Justin we also the co former of Rivers Cuomo's first band Avant Garde,〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.weezerpedia.com/wiki/index.php?title=Avant_Garde )〕 Fisher played bass.
Fisher played guitar and was the backing vocalist for Shufflepuck〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://forgottentreasures.blogspot.co.uk/2008/08/shufflepuck-st-1996-interscope.html )〕 who were signed to Interscope records in the 1990s.

In 2003 and 2004 Justin also contributed vocals on Matt Sharp's solo album and ep.
